چکیده

Abstract In this study, we investigated the interactive effects of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus (AMF) Rhizophagus irregularis and soil bacteriomes on maize growth under salt stress (100 mM NaCl) also effect infection levels. We found that directly promoted indirectly enhanced biomass by increasing colonization levels, irrespective stress. Although R. itself had no growth-promoting even at a high level in roots, its benefits to were reflected other aspects, evidenced significantly increased rate arbuscule formation (a proxy for functional plant-AMF nutritional exchange) salinity. A negative correlation between root suggested expands role roots. Besides, positive overall AMF shoot supported tenet contribution growth. Our findings suggest interactively work with , modulating affecting

The Effects of Spent Engine Oil on Soil Properties and Growth of Maize (Zea mays L.)

The effect of spent engine oil (SEO) on soil properties and growth of maize (Zea mays L.) was investigated. Five treatments (0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8 l/kg) of the spent oil were applied to soil in perforated poly bags with maize stands at four weeks after sowing. Soil analysis showed that SEO had no effect on both the pH and texture of the soil. Organic C, N and Mg in the contaminated soils i...

Effects of Silicon on Photosynthetic Characteristics of Maize (Zea mays L.) on Alluvial Soil

The objectives of the study were to determine the effects of silicon on photosynthetic characteristics of maize on alluvial soil, including total chlorophyll contents, photosynthetic rate (P n), stomatal conductance (g s), transpiration rate (E), and intercellular CO2 concentration (C i ) using the method of field experiment, in which there were five levels (0, 45, 90, 150, and 225 kg · ha(-1))...

Maize (Zea mays L.).

Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation is an effective method for introducing genes into maize. In this chapter, we describe a detailed protocol for genetic transformation of the maize genotype Hi II. Our starting plant material is immature embryos cocultivated with an Agrobacterium strain carrying a standard binary vector. In addition to step-by-step laboratory transformation proced...

Effects of aluminum toxicity on maize (Zea mays L.) seedlings

Aluminum toxicity is one of the most deleterious factors for plant growth in acidic soils because over 50% of the world’s potentially arable lands are acidic. In recent years, considerable research has been conducted to understand the mechanisms of Al toxicity and tolerance in plants. This paper reviews the effects of different concentration of Al on plant shoot, root physiological parameters s...

Mitigation effects of non-enzymatic antioxidants in maize (Zea mays L.) plants under salinity stress

The effects of non-enzymatic antioxidative compounds such as ascorbic acid, thiamine HCl and β-carotene were investigated on salt stressed maize plants. The maize plants were sprayed with 100 mg L of ascorbic acid, thiamine or β-carotene solutions once a week, up to harvesting of plants. The treatment of NaCl was initiated 25 days after sowing by irrigating the plants with 125 mM NaCl solution....
